The film also known as ‘A Night for Forgiveness’ analyses the situation of chance-medley in the society.

The story of ‘Yalda’ is narrated on a winter night in a studio. A young woman is accused of the murder of her husband. Now to be forgiven, the man’s daughter must express consent.

The new atmosphere of the film can be appealing to the audiences to attract their attention.

The subject of ‘A Night for Forgiveness’ is not new, but it is so important that many films have been produced focusing on forgiveness during the past years.

Masoud Bakhshi, director of the film said: “Mariticide files have always been interesting to me. So I decided to work on the subject.”

He added that the early edition of the script was re-written seven times so the crew reached the desired storyline.

The film has been acclaimed by many international film critics and magazines.

‘Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness’, which is a joint production of Iran, Switzerland, Germany, Lebanon and Luxembourg, follows the story of a young Iranian woman sentenced to death and seeking to obtain forgiveness from her accusers via a popular reality TV show.

Behnaz Jafari, Faqiheh Soltani, Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee, Bahram Afshar, Fereshteh Hosseini and Babak Karimi are among the cast members of the flick.

The film has so far gained international recognition by attending a number of events and winning a number of awards, including the Grand Jury Award at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in the US. 

The film is also set to premiere across Europe and America, beginning from September.
